Acabo una etapa formidable. Me lo he pasado MUY bien con vosotros, he disfrutado mucho, he trabajado muy a gusto y he aprendido todo lo que he podido. A algunos no os lo he dicho en persona, pero os voy a echar de menos. Muchísimas gracias por todo.

El próximo 4 de noviembre, el Dr. Anton junto con un residente de oftalmología de Donosti darán en nuestro servicio a la hora y en el lugar de siempre una sesión de neurooftalmología. A tal sesión están invitados los oftalmólogos del Hospital de Basurto con el VB de nuestro jefe de servicio.

Application for the Albert L. Baert European Radiology Editorial Fellowship is open

Tuesday, September 20, 2016 (ESR, Vienna) – In 2017, the Albert L. Baert European Radiology Editorial Fellowship will be offered for the fourth time. The editorial fellowship, which was initiated by Prof. Albert L. Baert and the European Radiology Private Foundation in 2013, will again provide one successful applicant with a unique opportunity to gain experience within the structure of one of Europe’s top scientific journals.

Each year, applicants are encouraged to apply for this programme, which aims to provide training in editorial skills, such as manuscript evaluation, manuscript editing, organisation of peer review, manuscript production and publishing, including electronic publication. Whilst application is open to everyone, candidates still in training or under the age of 35 are preferred.

“The fellowship is an excellent opportunity for young radiologists interested in scientific publishing to gain first-hand knowledge from an expert. I believe it is very important to promote and encourage young, motivated people to widen their horizons and also understand the other side of publishing,” said Prof. Albert L. Baert, who was Editor-in-Chief of European Radiology for 12 years, from 1996 to the end of 2007, and is now Editor Emeritus of the journal.

Candidates must be ESR members and should be able to provide evidence of a record of scientific or clinical research and work in the field of radiology as proven by scientific presentations or publications.

“The fellows are given the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the technical aspects of handling manuscripts, reviewer recruitment, review evaluation and criteria of decision making. Furthermore they are asked to complete reviews in and outside their areas of expertise. I believe that the Editorial Fellowship equips the candidates with valuable skills beneficial for their academic careers,” said Prof. Maximilian F. Reiser, current Editor-in-Chief of European Radiology.

The selected fellow will be announced by the Editor-in-Chief, at the editorial board meeting held during the annual European Congress of Radiology, in March.

Applications should be sent before October 31, 2016 to office@european-radiology.org and include a Curriculum Vitae and letters of reference from the chair of the applicant’s department.
